The Wantan 灣潭古道 segment of the Tanlan trail 淡蘭古道 is northeast of Pinglin 坪林 in Taipei county on the borders of Pinglin 坪林鄉 and Shuangshi 雙溪鄉 townships near Taiping village 泰平村. The trail follows Wantan stream 灣潭溪, a tributary of the Beishi river 北勢溪.
